i-Tea Cafe in Irvine
A Taiwanese style cafe that serves food. Apart eat in area, they also have a counter for take out, which seem to be very popular. Some of the menu were handwritten on paper and sticked to wall. We ordered 2x special menu, both served with free drinks. Food was pretty good, two people for $23. The seating was slightly cramped though.

Mizuki Restaurant in Irvine
We came to this Japanese restaurant to celebrate end of exam for my wife. Not a busy place on a Saturday evening. We ordered a sushi set, caterpillar roll (eels with avocado, please see picture), Kobe beef sushi and New York steak with miso sauce. The caterpillar roll was nice but Kobe beef sushi was a bit tough. The sushi set came with black cod which was tasty. However, service was slow and dinner was pricey, 2 people for a little over $80. We had better sushi with cheaper price elsewhere, so I doubt we will return to this restaurant.

Strawberry Farms Golf Club
We came to this golf club to find out more info on the course and lessons. We stopped by at the restaurant to have lunch. It has a nice view facing the outdoor driving range. We ordered lunch special - avocado shrimp salad and champion burger. They are both very nice, $30 for two people. Good service as well.

Ikko Japanese Restaurant in Costa Mesa
They labelled themselves as sushi & freestyle Japanese cuisine, and they don't serve American style rolls. We had shrimp with strawberry mousse, grill yellow tail cheek with ginger sauce, salt squid tempura, beef togue etc. Food is very good, but they are at a pricey end. Personally I don't prefer their dim environment. The restaurant is not too visible from the main road. Overall it is a good eat out place for special occasion.

iPho in Fullerton
We ordered well done brisket pho and Pork sandwich. The pho was pretty good. Pork sandwich was marinated, tasty but baguette could be more crispy, it also came with soup. This place is reasonably cheap. Two people for $14. They gave us loyalty card, 10 times is on them.

Pho Factory in Irvine
Vietnamese cruise in Irvine. My wife ordered a Vietnamese style french baguette and I ordered a large portion pho with well done brisket and flank. The pho was ok, nothing special. But the baguette was really good, definitely worth going there for more in future.

Koko Cafe (可口港式西餐) in Irvine
This is one of the few Hong Kong style cafe in Orange County. It opens between 11am and 11pm daily, located opposite to the Irvine Valley College, seats around 60+ customers. We came here for lunch. They served soup as part of meal order. We ordered baked seafood in creamy sauce and Singaporean fried rice noodle. The food was pretty good. Two people for $21 with drinks.

Gyu-Kaku (牛角) Japanese BBQ in Tustin
This restaurant has some good reviews in Yelp, so we came here to try out. We ordered a few of their signature dishes, e.g. Harami miso, prime ribeye ribs, shrimp garlic and chicken garlic noodle. My wife liked the spicy cold tofu and harami skirt steak miso. Garlic mushroom and garlic chicken noodle were both a bit too salty.
They do happy hour all day on Monday, and 11:30-6:30 & 8:30-Closing everyday, food are almost half price. This restaurant has 9 other branches across LA and Orange County.
Overall food was not bad and service was pretty good, but this place was rather noisy, kind of a mood killer, maybe other branches are different. $46 for two people.

Nana San Restaurant in Newport Beach
Trying this sushi restaurant for the first time. It is located at Newport Beach off Jamboree. This place is not big, only has a capacity of 40+. It has a sushi bar as well. We turned up at 8:40-ish on Wednesday evening, still needed to wait for a table. I guess it is quite popular with some good reviews in Yelp. We ordered some sushi, oyster shooters, soft shell crab, etc. The oyster shooters were very spicy, so-so taste-wise. Soft shell crab roll was delicious though. Waitress recommended lotus roots with tuna, that was the best dish. 2 people for just less than $70, a bit on the pricey front.

Angotei (安吾亭) in Costa Mesa
A small sushi restaurant behind Mitsuwa marketplace in Costa Mesa. Limited seating, so expect to queue. We ordered rainbow roll, sushi set in regular size, soft shell crab and black cod. Food was good, service was efficient, and reasonable pricing. I would recommend this sushi place to anyone.

Onotria Wine Country Cuisine in Costa Mesa
An Italian restaurant in Costa Mesa, it has a couple of function rooms. There is courtesy valet, no self parking available. Nice setting and friendly service. After we ordered our dishes, the waiter pushed a trolley of tapas for us to choose an extra. Their special were wood fired pizza. The linguine was nice but without much cream sauce. The risotto was very tasty and delicious. Overall, we were impressed with the restaurant.

Marie Callender's Restaurant & Bakery
They have a $10.99 special on Shepherd's pie or Chicken pot pie that comes with caesar salad and a slice of marie's pie as desert. We ordered one each. They also served us warm corn bread as starter. The shepherd's pie was not authentic as they don't use mince beef and there was no pastry on top. Pastry crust on the chicken pot pie was thick and dried. Rather disappointing. Then we ordered apple pie and double cream blueberry pie. That redeem itself. Overall, a place supposes to be famous for pies (according to advert), it ain't so. Two people for $30, not worth the price and won't be coming back.
